{"id":204,"date":"2015-06-04T23:55:11","date_gmt":"2015-06-04T21:55:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.emperial.dk\/?p=204"},"modified":"2015-06-04T23:56:19","modified_gmt":"2015-06-04T21:56:19","slug":"204","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.emperial.dk\/?p=204","title":{"rendered":"vSphere 5.5 how to add domain users to SSO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Snipped this from: <a href=\"https:\/\/virtuallylg.wordpress.com\/2013\/09\/29\/vsphere-5-5-how-to-add-domain-users-to-sso\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/virtuallylg.wordpress.com\/2013\/09\/29\/vsphere-5-5-how-to-add-domain-users-to-sso\/<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So you\u2019ve installed your ESX servers and installed vCenter along with its SSO, Inventory Services and Web Client, you\u2019ve even installed the Windows vSphere UI just because that\u2019s what you\u2019re used to and now when you\u2019re connecting to your new environment your getting a \u201cYou do not have permission to login to this server\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.emperial.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/vc-login-issues.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-206\" src=\"https:\/\/www.emperial.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/vc-login-issues-300x137.png\" alt=\"vc-login-issues\" width=\"553\" height=\"264\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So with this new version of vSphere you need to enable access for your domain users\/groups so that they have access to vCenter.<\/p>\n<p>To get you up and running fast follow these simple steps. for best practices configuring SSO please reference the VMware documentation.<\/p>\n<p>1. Login to the Web client \u201chttps:\/\/<var>client-hostname<\/var>:9443\/vsphere-client\u201d\u00a0with administrator@vsphere.local using the password of what ever you configured SSO password as. *Note you can only configure SSO using the Web Client*<\/p>\n<p>2. Navigate to vCenter Servers &gt; Manage &gt; Permissions, click on the + to add a user<\/p>\n<p>3. Now add your Domain user or group that you would like to have access to vCenter along with the permissions required and click on OK.<\/p>\n<p>4.
